New studies say it takes an average of 66 days to form a habit. Anywhere between 18 and 254 days technically. Sounds discouraging but the good outweighs the bad.
Just like you, I try to have positive habits. Eating healthier, exercising more, reading more, but with being a single mom in a busy world, it’s hard to stay consistent. I try to incorporate my habits in my daily routine. Wake up by 7am. Wash my face and brush my teeth. Start my coffee pot while I’m eating my fruit. Put the dishes away from the night before. Then that’s when things get hectic! Virtual school for myself AND my son! Snacks, lunch, minor inconveniences throughout the day. But I stay positive! For “PE” we go to the park and rollerblade together. More for myself than my son as I find it therapeutic to zoom through the park with my funk music playing on my headphones.
Navigating through life takes a lot of trial and error. You learn from your mistakes and you push forward. Reach out to friends and family when needed. Enjoy your solitude. Enjoy your social life. Just enjoy yourself.
What are some habits and routines you incorporate in your life? Let me know in the comments!
Happy Saturday everyone! Have you ever been in one of those moods where you have so many ideas, but no motivation or drive to do any of them? Like you’re just stuck in this limbo of productivity and laziness? That’s where I am mentally. Personal issues have impeded business plans, and its frustrating, but temporary. Transitions are always emotionally confusing time periods but growth doesn’t happen in your comfort zone. Recently, Youtube and Pinterest have been my bestfriends. Growth is always the goal.
As I mentioned in my last post, I have been brainstorming ways to rebrand and reinvent myself. I have always been a lover of all things creative, but I am focusing on my energy and time into practicing photography more. I have been doing photography as a hobby for around 10 years. I feel now is the perfect time to really improve my skills and run with it! My main focus will be boudoir photography, but still schedule mini family session and continue street photography. I’m excited to really focus on my journey. I spend a lot of time watching Youtube videos on many aspects of photography. The future is looking bright!
Leave a comment on tips and tricks you have done to improve your skills. If you have any links to great photographers whose work you love, I would love to see!
Recent times have really put into perspective priorities in life. I’ve been using this time to reinvent myself. So much time was spent doing activities that didn’t help me grow and money was spent on things that could have been better allocated. Even though there is a lot to be negative about right now, I appreciate the lessons learned. The goal is to come out of this better and stronger than before.
Wow! It’s been so long since my last post and SO much has happened since then. I went from being in a committed relationship (at least on my end) to becoming a single mom and now I’m finding myself again. Life transitions are such an overwhelming thing, but always try to look forward to the sunshine after the storm.
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the responsibilities of life, but do not forget to stop and take some time to enjoy the beautiful sights. Let your problems seem minuscule for a moment. Do not think. Of anything. Let your mind stay blank and just embrace the moment.
Let me start off by saying hello and welcome! This will be a chance for me to have the opportunity to express my views and meet new people along the way.
